Bio

Melika Sharifironizi focused her Ph.D. on structure, thermodynamic properties, and environmental transport of actinide materials with importance in the nuclear fuel cycle at the University of Notre Dame. She has an extensive research and teaching background in radiochemistry, numerical modeling of fate and transport of environmental contaminants — including radionuclides — and synthesis and characterization of actinide materials. She has several years of mentoring and teaching experience guiding undergraduate and graduate students from various science and engineering disciplines, as well as professionals.
