Change of Campus Mentoring Program

The goal of the Change of Campus Mentoring Program is to successfully facilitate the transition for Penn State students who are transitioning to the University Park campus in the College of Engineering. The program aims to provide incoming students with resources and create student and corporate networking opportunities. Program facilitators hope to cultivate a sense of belonging and community for the program’s peer mentors and change of campus students, staff, and faculty.

Why participate?

The benefits of participating in the Change of Campus Mentoring Program include:

  • A fun and effective way to connect with each other, the college, and the campus
  • Support and resources to facilitate a positive transition to the college
  • Meeting and connecting with a mentor who will help you get involved on campus and assist in your transition
  • Building community and promoting student involvement

Our focus

The program provides a unique opportunity to meet other students who are transitioning to University Park with similar majors in engineering.

  • Change of campus students are matched with a mentor before they move to campus
  • Matches are based on mutual interests, like major interests
  • Mentors will connect with mentees by email, phone, Zoom, and social networks
  • Mentors will meet mentees online in the Change of Campus Leadership Conference before classes start
  • Maintain as much or as little contact as wanted and needed throughout the semester
